Nicola is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia and solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

Nicola specialises in the field of asset recovery and money laundering. Between 2004 and 2010, Nicola was a Senior Crown Prosecutor at the Crown Prosecution Service, working in both the Organised Crime Division and the International Division. Since leaving the Crown Prosecution Service in 2010, Nicola has worked as a consultant at the British High Commission to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean and for the U.S. Department of State.

Nicola is an expert with the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) and in 2009 was part of a three-person UK team to evaluate Pakistan’s compliance with international money laundering protocols.

In 2009, Nicola was the sole United Kingdom representative to attend the Council of Europe review of Russia’s compliance with the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) in Strasbourg.

Since 2012, Nicola has been a consultant legal advisor for the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. Nicola has worked extensively in the Eastern Caribbean, drafting asset recovery legislation and working with Attorneys General and Prime Ministers of each State to shepherd Proceeds of Crime Bills through Parliament.

Nicola provides technical assistance in asset recovery and money laundering cases in the Eastern Caribbean High Court, Court of Appeal and is currently acting in a matter before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

Nicola has a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce from Otago University, New Zealand.
